Privacy Policy
Version 2026-10-05.1 · Last updated 13 October 2026
VedaSpeak is owned and operated by Rubik’s Cube Consulting Pty Ltd (ABN 47 637 650 698), Melbourne, Victoria, Australia (“we”, “us”), which is responsible for your personal data under this policy. Contact: hello@vedaspeak.com.
The short version
- We use your birth details and conversations only to run VedaSpeak for you.
- We show no ads and we never sell your data.
- Some service providers process your data for us (for example hosting, AI and speech providers, and WhatsApp). They are listed below.
- Our primary database is in Mumbai, India.
- You can download your data or delete your account at any time. Deletion is final after 7 days.
What we collect
- Sign-in details: your email address if you sign in with an email code; your Google account identifier and email if you sign in with Google; your WhatsApp identity if you use WhatsApp (WhatsApp’s business-scoped user ID and, where WhatsApp shares it, your phone number and username).
- Birth details: the name you give us, date of birth, birth time and how accurate you think it is, birthplace (as you typed it and the place you chose, with its coordinates and time zone), and the country you live in now. If you add family members, the same details for them.
- Conversations: the messages you send and our replies, text transcripts of your voice notes, and short summaries and facts that help us remember context. Facts about your life are only stored once you confirm them.
- Choices: your language and voice preferences, and what you have agreed to, when, and under which version of this policy.
- Technical: cookies needed to keep you signed in. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
- Country of use: when you use VedaSpeak on the web, we record the country you appear to be using it from as a two-letter country code supplied by our hosting provider. We record it when you create your account and at most once per day when you use the service. We use this information to understand where VedaSpeak is being used and to analyse usage and commercial performance by country. We do not store your IP address, city or precise location for this purpose, and we do not use your birthplace or astrology chart data to determine your location. This information is deleted when your account is deleted.
We never ask for your life story before the Blind Chart Test, and we keep birth details, phone numbers and message text out of our logs and analytics.
How we use it
- to calculate your chart and give you readings, forecasts and remedies you ask for;
- to remember your chart, family profiles and conversation context between sessions;
- to send the WhatsApp messages and reminders you have agreed to;
- to keep your account secure and prevent abuse;
- to meet our legal obligations.
Your consent, by category
You agree to each of these separately and can withdraw any of them without affecting the others: terms and privacy; WhatsApp service messages; remedy reminders; forecast alerts; voice processing; and marketing messages. Marketing is always off unless you switch it on.
Who processes your data for us
We share only what each provider needs to do its job, under that provider’s service terms and, where we have one, a data processing agreement with us. Your birth details do go to some of them: for example, a chart question sent to an AI provider includes the relevant chart context.
- Hosting and database: Supabase, with our primary database in the AWS Mumbai region (ap-south-1), India. Web hosting: Vercel.
- Astrology calculation provider: RoxyAPI receives the birth date, birth time and birthplace coordinates (with the time-zone offset at birth) of the person a question is about, and returns chart calculations and interpretation material we use to prepare our answer. We do not send RoxyAPI your name, email or phone number. RoxyAPI processes and stores this data in Germany, with remote administration from India; its data processing agreement and subprocessor list apply. RoxyAPI does not store the request itself; it keeps the computed result in a cache for at most 24 hours, and a usage record (time, endpoint and our server’s address, no birth details) for 120 days.
- Lal Kitab interpretation data provider: a third-party Lal Kitab data provider receives the birth date, birth time (noon when the time is unknown), birthplace coordinates and time zone of the person a remedy is for, and returns Lal Kitab remedy texts. This happens only when you ask for a remedy or upaya, or generate a report that includes a Lal Kitab section. We do not send it your name, email or phone number. We keep its response with your account and delete it with your account.
- AI language model provider: Anthropic receives your question, up to three earlier questions and answers from the same conversation, and the chart facts relevant to it (such as planet placements and timing periods), with your country and language, to draft a reply. For a report, it receives the chart facts the report needs; for the Hindi version of a report, it receives the English report. Anthropic may process this data outside India, including in the United States. Under its commercial terms it does not train its models on this data and deletes it within 30 days, unless it must keep it longer to enforce its usage policy or by law.
- Text-to-speech for Listen: Google (Gemini API) receives the text to be read aloud, which is the summary of the answer or report you tapped Listen on, and returns the audio. We do not send Google your email or phone number. Voice notes from you are not offered yet; before they launch, we will name the speech-to-text provider here.
- WhatsApp (Meta): delivers messages between you and VedaSpeak when you use WhatsApp.
- Email delivery: sends your sign-in codes, reminders when paid access is about to end or you have used most of your questions (every reminder has a link to stop them) and, if you apply for the beta, beta emails: Resend.
- Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Payments: when you buy Plus or Family, Stripe processes the payment in every country, including India (in rupees). It receives what it needs to take the payment. Outside Australia, the purchase is sold through Link, LLC (a Stripe company), which also receives your name, email, billing address and purchase details to act as the seller, work out tax and send your receipt. We never see or store your full card or bank details.
Place search runs on our own copy of GeoNames place data, so what you type when you search for a birthplace is not sent to GeoNames.
Some providers process data outside India: RoxyAPI in Germany, and Anthropic, Vercel, Resend, Meta, Google and Stripe in the United States and other countries; our third-party astrology data providers may also process data outside India. Each processes data under its service terms with us (including a data processing agreement where we have one), and only for the purpose described above.
Spoken replies (Listen)
- Audio is made only when you tap Listen on an answer or a report (on the web, or the Listen button on WhatsApp). Each one uses one spoken reply from your plan’s allowance.
- We do not store the audio. On the web it is played to you; on WhatsApp it is sent to you as a voice note through WhatsApp.
- We record that a spoken reply was made, its length and its cost, to count your allowance and our costs.
Voice notes (when voice launches)
- The recording you send is deleted as soon as it has been transcribed and checked, normally within minutes; a clean-up job removes any left over within 15 minutes.
- If transcription fails, the recording is kept for at most 24 hours so we can retry, then deleted.
- Voice replies we generate are kept for at most 1 hour for delivery, then deleted.
- We keep the text transcript, not the recording.
Using VedaSpeak on WhatsApp
- Signing up or connecting: you can sign up entirely on WhatsApp: your account is then created from your WhatsApp number after you agree to the Terms and this policy in the chat. Or you can link WhatsApp to an existing VedaSpeak account by starting from the website and tapping “Yes, connect” in WhatsApp. You can be connected to one WhatsApp number at a time.
- What we store: your WhatsApp identity (WhatsApp’s business-scoped user ID and, where WhatsApp shares it, your phone number), the IDs and delivery status of messages, and, once you are connected, the text of the questions you ask and the answers we send. Before you connect, we store only your WhatsApp identity and message IDs, never the message text.
- One conversation: questions on WhatsApp and on the website share one conversation history, so VedaSpeak can follow up on either.
- Meta’s role: WhatsApp (Meta Platforms) carries the messages between you and VedaSpeak as our processor for the WhatsApp Business service. Meta also applies its own WhatsApp privacy policy to your use of WhatsApp.
- Stopping messages: send STOP (or बंद करो / band karo) at any time and we stop sending you anything other than a reply to a message you send. Send START to resume.
- Disconnecting: write to hello@vedaspeak.com to unlink your WhatsApp; deleting your account also unlinks it. Your questions and answers stay in your account history until you delete your account.
Founding beta applications
If you apply on the beta page, we collect your first name, email, country, optional city or state, age range, preferred language, whether you know your birth time (not the time itself), the topics you are interested in, whether you can use VedaSpeak a few times, your consent to beta emails, and which campaign link brought you (if any). We do not ask for your date, time or place of birth on the application. To stop automated abuse we keep a keyed hash of your IP address, never the address itself, for 7 days.
We use this only to select testers, to email you about the beta (selection, invitation and feedback requests) and to measure how the beta is going. If you are selected and sign in with the same email, your application is linked to your account, together with your beta access, how much you used VedaSpeak during the beta (counts, not your questions), any ratings or comments you give on answers, and your beta questionnaire. These are deleted with your account. Your feedback does not affect the beta reward.
How long we keep data
- Beta applications that were not selected, or never became an account: deleted 90 days after you applied.
- Your account, birth details and chart: while your account exists.
- Conversations: while your account exists, unless you delete them sooner.
- Reports, their earlier versions and their Hindi versions: while your account exists.
- Lal Kitab remedy responses: while your account exists.
- Audio for spoken replies (Listen): not stored.
- Unfinished WhatsApp sign-ups: deleted after 7 days.
- Database backups: kept for at most 7 days, then deleted. Individual records inside a backup cannot be removed early.
Deleting your account
From My account, you can download your data and then delete your account. When you confirm, every session is signed out and your data stops being shown or used at once. For 7 days you can cancel by signing in again. After that, your Kundli, conversations, reports (with their Hindi versions), family profiles, predictions and remedy history are permanently deleted.
Your rights
You can see and download your data, correct your birth details, withdraw any consent, and delete your account. “Download my data” in My account gives you one JSON file with your account, consents, family profiles and every version of their birth details, your Ask conversations on the web and WhatsApp, your reports (with their Hindi versions), your chart calculations and Lal Kitab results, your Blind Audit predictions and answers, your WhatsApp link and message delivery records, your passes and purchases, your payment, refund and invoice records, and any promotional grants. It leaves out our internal cost, quality, safety and diagnostic logs, raw provider responses, and the third-party astrology data we cache to prepare your readings; what we showed you from it is included. It is your account and product data, not a copy of every internal record: for a formal access request, email us and we will review the personal data linked to you in our operational systems. We never hold card details. Correcting birth details creates a new version; earlier forecasts stay linked to the details they were made with until your account is deleted. Contact us at hello@vedaspeak.com. How to delete your data: Delete your data.
Children
VedaSpeak is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you give a date of birth that shows you are under 18, we do not save it. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we delete it. A parent may add a child’s birth details as a family profile; answers about anyone under 18 never include predictions about marriage, relationships or other adult topics.
Astrology
Astrology is an interpretive tradition, not a science. VedaSpeak does not diagnose health conditions or give legal or financial advice, and no reading guarantees any outcome.
Changes
Each version of this policy has a version label. If we change it materially, we will ask you to agree again.
